Terms and conditions
Last updated: August 27, 2026
Purpose
These terms govern the use of mirageloft.com and participation in events organized by Mirage Loft in Montreal.
Tickets and registrations
Registration happens on each event's page, with a member account. An event is free, by voluntary contribution or paid; payment for a paid event is processed by Stripe, our payment processor, on its secure page, and Mirage Loft keeps no card data. Spots are limited; a waitlist is offered when an event is full. Cancellations and refunds are governed by our Cancellation and refund policy. Event-specific details (schedule, venue notes) are stated on the event page.
Conduct and respect
Our events are built on mutual respect and consent. We reserve the right to refuse entry or to remove from an event any person whose behaviour breaks that frame, without refund.
By attending a dance evening, you consent to photos or videos taken during the event being used on Mirage Loft's social media. Tell the team on site if you prefer not to appear.
Account
The site and our events are for persons 18 and over. One account per person, created with accurate identity information. You may request its closure by email; closure disables access to the account, and the attendance history is kept (see the Privacy policy). Some evenings are reserved for members who meet conditions set by Mirage Loft; access to them is at our discretion.
Liability
Mirage Loft cannot be held liable for indirect damages related to the use of this site. The site is provided "as is", with no guarantee of continuous availability.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable in Quebec. Any dispute falls under the courts of the judicial district of Montreal.

Privacy officer
Mirage Loft's person in charge of the protection of personal information can be reached at admin@mirageloft.com. Write to us with any question or request about your personal information.
What we collect
We collect only the information our activities require:
- Newsletter: your email address, the interest lists you choose, your language, the version of the consent wording shown to you, the dates your consent was requested, confirmed and withdrawn, and whether you opened a mailing or clicked a link in it.
- Accounts: full name, email address, phone number, the history of events you attended (recorded by our team), and the access level our team assigns to your account based on the events you attended. Where applicable, the internal notes our team keeps to organize its evenings; and, where applicable, a note by our team on a registration (for example a payment at the door) and, where applicable, a name change request (old name, new name, dates and decision).
- Registrations: the events you register for, the state of each registration (confirmed, pending, cancelled) and, for a paid event, the amount paid or refunded and our payment processor's transaction identifiers. Mirage Loft keeps no card data.
- Videos and moving images: an event page may carry a video or a moving image hosted by Cloudinary, in the United States. We never record your network address, but Cloudinary sees it, and your device, when your browser asks it for the file. For a video, that happens only when you press play. For a moving image that plays by itself, it happens as the page opens.
We use no tracking cookies and no analytics on this website: only strictly necessary cookies (session, language, security) are set.
Why we collect it
This information is used solely to send you our newsletter (with your explicit consent) to manage your account and registrations, and to decide which events are shown to you. We never sell or rent your information to anyone.
Where it is kept
Our data is hosted in Canada (Toronto). Backups are encrypted before any transfer outside Canada, so no readable personal information leaves the country. Encrypted backup copies are kept for 35 days, then deleted.
Our newsletter is managed by MailerLite, whose servers are in the European Union. Only newsletter information is stored there, under a data-processing agreement; account information never leaves Canada unencrypted.
Online payments are processed by Stripe (United States and Ireland). When you pay for an event, Stripe receives your email address, the event title and the amount, and collects your payment details itself on its secure page, under its data-processing agreement. Mirage Loft keeps only the transaction identifiers and the amounts.
How long
We keep your account and newsletter information until you ask us to remove it. When you ask us to close your account, we disable access to it; we keep your name, email address, phone number, attendance history and access level, to keep our evenings safe and our attendance records accurate. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in every mailing; we keep the date of your unsubscription as proof that you withdrew consent.
Your rights
You may ask for access to your personal information, its correction, a copy in a structured and commonly used technological format, or the closure of your account, by writing to us. We respond promptly, in accordance with Quebec's Law 25.
